I saw something different while I was walking one afternoon along Dong Khoi St. in District 1. It was too sunny by the sidewalk as I was walking towards the Opera House. That prompted me to turn my head and look at Eden Mall that usually blocked the sun, but it was gone.
And just like that, I left for Manila for the holidays and came back with Eden Mall no more. Eden Mall was reduced to a pile of rubble.
It’s just sad to see a building die and with it the memories of the Saigon. Hopefully, something better can be built.
Goodbye Eden Mall!
