Lac Thai is one of the restaurants found in the esquinita/alley along Mac Thi Buoi St. in District 1. It’s housed in a building with 3 floors. The first 2 floors have the usual wooden tables and chairs while the 3rd floor has woven-mat covered floor with low tables and comfortable cushions on the floor where you can seat.
I first ate there with my officemates for group lunch and I really enjoyed it!
So right after hearing anticipated Sunday Mass at the Pastoral Center, I decided to introduce the place to my husband.
Since it was just him, me and my son (who doesn’t really eat a whole lot), we just ordered the pad thai and tom yum. It was fantastic! The tom yum was just how I liked it — sour and not too spicy. If you like it real spicy, you can tell them to have it extra hot. The pad thai is delicious as well. Once you’ve tasted Thai food that’s not from fast food, you never wanna go back.
We paid around 360k VND (Tom Yum 130k VND, Pad Thai 120k VND + drinks). i think that’s pretty pricey for 2 people. But that’s just me because there’s another good Thai restaurant (nearby) I know that’s much cheaper. 😀
But honestly, hubby and I are satisfied customers — and it’s not like we eat there everyday. So for the food and ambiance, the price is okay (once in a while). 😀
The place is a popular so best to call to reserve a table. Their number is 38237506.
