Spotted!

Spotted indeed!

Saw this vendor selling fishes by Nguyen Van Linh St., right in front of  KFC.  Found this black-spotted yellow fishes irresistible and wanted to buy them for my son.  Do you know what it’s called?

Actually, I wanted to buy them all because I feel it’s just cruel to just bag them all up in plastic.  😦  But I don’t own a fish tank.

I’ve seen peddlers selling colored chicks and birds here too (like in the Philippines)  but seeing fishes is something I’m not accustomed to seeing.  Fishes need special equipment so they can breathe.  When left like this, they’ll just die.

The black fish looks utterly miserable squashed like that.  I hope these fishes found new homes.

Those are brackish water spotted puffer fish. They’ll survive in freshwater but they won’t reach their full potential. Thanks for sharing… when I move to Vietnam this June, the first thing after I establish myself is to build a fish tank.

Hi Kyle! Thanks for dropping by and letting me know what those adorable fishes are called. There are aquarium shops near our area. Let me know if I can help when you get here. 🙂
