Saigon Zoo

No, you’re not imagining things.  There ARE two primates in the cage.  One is an orangutan staring at the crowd of onlookers and another is a homo sapien sending text messages. 🙂  Flatmates?

Interesting scene in the Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens, eh?

I don’t know how this zoo compares to other zoos in the world but ours in Manila is half the size of this zoo and has lesser animals.

Now, if you’re anti-captivity, that is a good thing.  But you have got to admit, that it’s nice to see the animals up close and personal to teach kids about the existence of other creatures aside from watching the Discovery Channel.  Maybe in the future, our kids can plan more about co-habitation with these gentle creatures.

See them at 2 Nguyen Binh Kiem St., Q1.  Check out their website: http://www.saigonzoo.net/idx.php?lang=en.  Entrance fee is 25,000 VND per person last I checked.
