In the area where we live, there are 5 salons. Out of the 5, 3 salons has nail spa as one of their major services. There are other 2 shops that just focuses on nail spa. So technically, there are 5 nail salons.
I’m not sure if they all profit from the business because there are a lot of other nail spas around our area. The competition is stiff!
One thing is for sure though, the Vietnamese love to spend their time getting a manicure and pedicure. That and having their hair professionally shampooed and styled.
Look at the interesting designs…
My mom and mom-in-law actually had their nails done when they visited last year and both are in awe on how beautiful their nails turned out after a mani-pedi. The Vietnamese nail art is really something!
In fact, Hollywood actress Tippi Hedren has hired one Vietnamese manicurist in the 1970s and since then, Vietnamese salons has mushroomed all over the US and Canada. Read more on that here.
Of the five nail salons nearby, I like going to Phu Hoang Anh because the shop owner is a friend. 😀 And I’ve gotten to know a lot of the workers here.
I always try to get Be to do my nails because she is a superb nail artist! I don’t know how she does it on the littlest of canvas such as on my small toe!
Anyway, whichever salon you pick around Saigon, I’m sure you’ll get raves on how beautiful your nails are.
