Ria and I were walking along Ton That Thiep last Monday when we saw Cha Ca La Vong Restaurant. She’s still in the search for the best Cha Ca La Vong in Ho Chi Minh City so we decided to try this one out today at lunch.
We also wanted to see how different the Cha Ca La Vong is compared to the one we ate at Cha Ca Ha Noi in District 7.
They have a pretty extensive menu. NOT! Hehe! They were only serving Cha Ca La Vong and the rest were drinks and a dessert, Creme Brulee.
The ground floor can seat some 30 people. There’s a second floor too but I didn’t get to see it.
Here’s a bowlful of dill for our fish!
Our Cha Ca La Vong for 2!
It was a tad bit oily but not the icky type. I’m not sure what kind of oil they used here though. Anyhoo, the dill and veggies offset it.
The verdict? The Cha Ca La Vong is delicious. The fish was fat but just right! Really good! Perfect food every Friday for the Lenten Season. Looks like we’ll be coming back! 🙂
Cha Ca La Vong
36 Ton That Thiep St., D1, HCMC
There is also a branch of Cha Ca La Vong at 27 Thang Long in Q. Tan Binh with the same good food.
Another is at 3-5 Ho Xuan Huong, P6, Q3
Glad I found this post: I’ve been looking for cha ca ever since I first had it in Hanoi last year. Will have to try this place out!
Yay! Glad you found this helpful! 🙂
mmm yummo must TAKE ME THERE!
