Look closely!

Banh Cuon LA has been gutted out along Nguyen Du!

I saw them workers cleaning up the space a few days ago when I went with my visiting friends for a tour of the downtown area. 😦

Could they possibly be under renovation or is Banh Cuon LA gone for good?  If it’s the latter, it’s just so sad.  A lot of local Vietnamese businesses have folded up in prime locations to give way to foreign shops.  I for one feel that it’s exactly these local shops that makes Saigon feel like Saigon.

Now where do I get my congee and banh cuon?
