Burger King has been in HCMC for quite some time now but I haven’t really tried it until today. Why? Well, for some reason, it opened in locations inaccessible to me — such as the airport. 😀
Now that it opened an outlet in our neighbourhood where I don’t have to spend money on transportation fare, it was time to check it out.
BK can also be found in Manila so I was keen on comparing notes. As well as comparing it with another burger food chain in HCMC, say Carl’s Jr.
Replacing KFC’s location in My Khanh along Nguyen Van Linh St., BK retained the floor plan and changed up a few things in the furniture.
It opened only yesterday in the late afternoon so we were kinda expecting a deluge of people for lunch today. We decided to come by after lunch but even then, there were still lots of people around.
My observations?
- The patty tastes as grilled as ever (+) but it is half the size of what I eat in Manila or as compared to Carls, Jr. for almost the same price — around 5 dollars (-). I absolutely could finish two BK Singles in one sitting. Yes, I’m a glutton. 😛
- No free-flowing drinks which you’d kinda expect since it’s a bit pricey. (-)
- The fries is delicious though or I was just very hungry when I ate. 🙂 (+) Mayo comes free too.
- No one to deliver your food to you so there’s a big crowd of people by the counter waiting for their order. Tsk tsk. I don’t know if they haven’t hired enough just yet or this is the norm in other BKs in HCMC. (-)
I haven’t had a Strawberry Sundae since…oh well, I can’t remember…so this was a treat though.
So counting, 2 positives (+) and 3 negatives (-). Judge it for yourself. 😉
We were there last night 😉
You’re so lucky it’s right down your apartment building! LOL.
