Every time am on my way to work, I pass by this new Mediterranean Restaurant by Tony Fox, Saffron . I believe they opened late last year and has become one of the favorite restaurants in District 1.
The terracotta-potted ceiling is pretty awesome but kinda scary for someone like me who always has to think about my kids’ safety. I can very well see my eldest son in my mind’s eye throw something up in the air just because.
The set lunch menu was bursting with delicious options. Katrina (Thanks Kat!) recommended everything. Not much of a help, eh? But she chose for me instead.
While waiting for our orders, we were served freshly baked bread with garlic, olive tapenade and hummus. For starters, you can choose from Soup of the Day (which was carrot yesterday) and Greek / Caesar’s Salad. I chose the Caesar. Thumbs up for this one. The portion and taste were just right.
My Pork Cordon Bleu which was huge! For someone like me, this should be something for sharing. But that’s just me on a day when I had a big breakfast. I know I could have finished this off. 😛 Would I come back for this one? I would!
Our friend, Ria ordered the Salmon, Pepperonata, Dill Cream. She raved about it as she finished of the plate.
Katrina’s Chicken Shish Taouk with Garlic Yoghurt Sauce, Mixed with Salad, Pita and Saffron Rice. I tried and I loved it too!
Um… there was the dessert which was Mango Mousse and a Chocolate Mousse (if I remember correctly)… but was quickly consumed so no photos for that. 😀 We paired it with coffee and peppermint tea. 🙂
Saffron is located right by Ciao Bella, another Tony Fox’s restaurant and the newly opened Starbucks’ fourth cafe.
