Hung Kings Day

Hung Kings Day was smack in the middle of the week and you can’t really go and schedule a proper holiday. So what did you guys do on this holiday?  The boys in our bike group went to Monkey Island. Left at 5 am and returned at 6 pm. Thank God I didn’t join that one. 😛 photo 20140409_060006_zpsf0325a46.jpg

Instead, we decided on a short and relaxing (not after conquering 4 bridges) bike ride along Nguyen Huu Tho St. We still left at 5:30 am to escape the heat — yeah I know waking up at a godforsaken hour on a holiday, eh?

The route was just 23 kilometers. And we had our usual breakfast stop at Mimi.

Saigon was just stirring when we reached the end of Nguyen Huu Tho St. at 6 am.

Except for this guy on the boat, still happily snoring.

Saw this fisherman readying his nets. photo IMG_1335_zps04b33034.jpg

It felt like a lazy, lazy morning really. photo IMG_1334_zps4edb0a34.jpg

We finished early at 7 am and saw lots of people feigning exercise on a holiday morning. photo IMG_1319_zpsbade0b91.jpgHow did you spend your holiday?
