Food Trip: Cote d’ Azur

photo 20140527_114840_zpseecb6cd7.jpgOkay so today was Cote D’ Azur lunch or in English, the French Riviera. It was nowhere near a coastline but it boasts of French cuisine. It’s tucked away along a hem off Nguyen Thi Minh Khai St. I would have probably gotten lost trying to find it if I went on my own. ๐Ÿ˜›

I went with Katrina and Marina from our office (thanks Kat for bringing us to this place!). The place was hidden so it was a wonder if a lot of people knew the place. According to Kat, Cote d’ Azur is busier in the evenings.

photo 20140527_114933_zpse71a70b2.jpgThe restaurant is housed in a 2-floor building. We ate at the second floor where sunlight was streaming into the dining area. It was wonderfully cozy and inviting.

photo 20140527_114956_zps6944e45f.jpgThis is an ideal place to take your significant other or have a business lunch or just chill with your girl friends.

We ordered from the Business Lunch menu of appetizer, main course, and dessert. photo 20140527_120846_zpsf9938c46.jpgKatrina and I had the Serrano Ham for appetizers which was really, really good. The saltiness of the ham went well with the asparagus and Hollandaise sauce. I honestly would just come back for appetizers because of this. ๐Ÿ˜›

Marina had the shrimp on avocado for appetizer (sorry for the blurry photos!). photo 20140527_121222_zps3e7ac260.jpgFor the main course, Kat had the Tuna Steak which was pan-seared with sauteed vegetables in sweet pepper sauce.

photo 20140527_122856_zps8cf6aac8.jpgMarina and I ordered the Salmon. Marina’s was a bit overcooked while mine was actually pretty good.

After the appetizers, main course, and freshly baked bread, I was actually pretty full. So we just ordered caramel flan with raspberries and strawberry for sharing paired with peppermint tea. photo 20140527_125027_zps8a1a3129.jpg

We were also served biscuits and chocolates. photo 20140527_125034_zps73b279b4.jpgI don’t really put sugar in my tea but it was just nice to take a picture of the cubes —

photo 20140527_125142_zps2ff3558d.jpgCote d’ Azur is open during lunch (11:00-13:30) and dinner (18:00-21:30) but is closed on Sundays. Best to call them for reservations.
